The brave individuals in this film represent the countless Australians who endure Lyme disease / Lyme like illness on a daily basis. This documentary exists to keep raising awareness of this unrecognized illness and for the general public to gain a better understanding and insight of what those affected may actually be going through. This issue is so complex and larger than we think, affecting people both locally and abroad.

So many Australians are struggling and their families are hurting due to their illness being unrecognised within Australia and therefore access to treatment is scarce at best. Personally, the filmmakers have a dear friend affected by this and as the number of people affected increases significantly each year, you might know someone too.

May is worldwide “Lyme Awareness Month”. We want this documentary to keep the conversation going, to keep raising awareness and for people who are losing hope to know that they are not alone. The brave individuals in this film represent the countless Australians who endure Lyme disease / Lyme like illness on a daily basis. Please help us share their stories by spreading word about this documentary.

Our Battle Ongoing is the latest feature-length documentary from director Andy Smith about Lyme disease and Lyme-like illness in Australia. An official statement has been released below regarding the upcoming online and TV debut of this film. #OURBATTLEONGOING

--- OFFICIAL DIRECTORS STATEMENT ---

As the director of Our Battle Ongoing, it was always my intention that the film would help shed light on this growing and often tragic situation, as well as give individuals a chance to share their stories so that they and others would not feel alone as they seek answers and treatment in often unwelcoming environments. Both my producer and I first and foremost wanted this film available and unrestricted and considered all avenues for the films success in reaching the widest audience possible.

For this reason we decided to pull Our Battle Ongoing from all film festival selections and escalate its release online via Amazon, YouTube and other streaming platforms and to Australian televisi...

DOXA kicked off tonight - This 10 day film festival is devoted to presenting independent and innovative documentaries. For us, docos have been our main filmmaking focus over recent years, so to be able to help and attend this festival is quite something special.

Over the last few weeks we’ve been volunteering at Shaw TV, one of Vancouver’s community channels. We had the pleasure in lending a hand with camera operating and floor directing for a couple of their in-studio productions. Unfortunately around the globe, community TV is a changing industry and today they announced the end of productions at Shaw TV Vancouver, thus our volunteering at Shaw has come to a sad and fast end.
